Her role as Chair (President) of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) from 2021 to 2024 is a significant example of her cultural leadership. As Chair, she served as a cultural anchor by providing performance opportunities for the Great Black Music Ensemble. As part of her community engagement and collaboration efforts, she strengthened relationships locally, nationally, and internationally. She is known for catalyzing cross-cultural artistic collaborations such as with Tania Leon’s Dialogues of Composers Now, the American Composers Forum, Ensemble Dal Niente, the Grossman Ensemble, and the Old Town School of Folk Music. She also co-produced significant concerts for the AACM, including the AACM’s 55th Anniversary concert and the "AACM: Ancient to the Future" concert featured at Carnegie Hall’s Afrofuturism Festival. This involved producing large-scale events and commissioning new compositions. Her public speaking skills are evident in her experience giving University Lectures & Masterclasses. She has lectured on topics such as Creative Music and Afrofuturism at institutions like the University of Paris and the University of Illinois at Champaign, Urbana, among others.
